Wildfire Watch is not an emergency service. It is a convenience layer over other people's instruments, refreshed every few hours. Never use it — or its absence of a warning — to make an evacuation decision. Follow your local emergency services and official sources (AEMET, Météo-France, Copernicus EMS) for anything that matters.

1. Acceptance

By using redcrowlabs.com/wildfires you agree to these terms. If you don't, please don't use the site.

2. What the data actually is

Fire detections are satellite-derived thermal anomalies from NASA FIRMS (VIIRS), roughly 375m resolution — a detection is not a confirmed, mapped, or contained fire, and heavy cloud cover can hide one entirely. Air quality figures come from the nearest reporting stations in the World Air Quality Index network and may not reflect conditions at your exact location. Wind, humidity, and rainfall are model-derived estimates from Open-Meteo. All of it can be wrong, missing, or hours old — the dashboard states the age of what you're looking at for exactly this reason.

3. No warranty

The site is provided "as is," with no warranty of accuracy, completeness, or availability. Data sources can go down, satellites miss passes, and thresholds are judgment calls, not scientific fact. Verify anything that matters against the primary sources linked on each card before acting on it.

4. Data sources & attribution

This site republishes public data from NASA FIRMS, the World Air Quality Index project, and Open-Meteo, each under their own terms. We are not affiliated with, and do not speak for, any of them, nor for AEMET, Météo-France, or Copernicus EMS, whose services are linked as manual-check sources only.

5. Intellectual property

The Wildfire Watch name, design, and code are the property of Red Crow Labs. Underlying environmental data belongs to its respective providers and is used under their public terms.

6. Limitation of liability

Red Crow Labs is not liable for any damages arising from your use of this site, including decisions made or not made based on data displayed here, data inaccuracies, or service interruptions.

7. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the update.
